Lara Thomas is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Lara’s work is inspired by the relationship between humans and nature, and the ways in which we are simultaneously shaped by one another.

Her practice spans ceramics, sculptural installation and printmaking. It involves connecting with places through collecting and working with found materials, natural and manmade.

Through her work Lara invites viewers to connect with the natural environment, to see it from a different perspective and to reconsider their own relationship to it.

Lara has been exhibiting her work at galleries and events since 2012. She holds a BA in Art History from Waipapa Taumata Tau | University of Auckland and graduated with her BFA Hons from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2017.
